We offer eight course levels for German courses, each with a 4-8 week syllabus. Levels start at absolute beginner and progress to advanced. It is the responsibility of the theacher to decide whether a student may proceed to the next level. Weekly tests aid this decision. If a student’s skills are incompatible with those of the rest of the group, it is naturally also possible to switch levels mid-course after consulting the school management. In a classroom environment using course material. There will be group discussions, tutor-led demonstrations, tutorials, small groups, individual and peer teaching. Learners will record their own progress and have their work checked regularly throughout the course. Regular attendance is essential as is sitting a single computer based assessment at the end of the course.

The original and reference implementation Java compilers, virtual machines, and class libraries were originally released by Sun under proprietary licences. As of May 2007, in compliance with the specifications of the Java Community Process, Sun relicensed most of its Java technologies under the GNU General Public License. Others have also developed alternative implementations of these Sun technologies, such as the GNU Compiler for Java (bytecode compiler), GNU Classpath (standard libraries), and IcedTea-Web (browser plugin for applets).
